Grace Church Set List 8.15.10

What a day! We had great services all 3 hours – which let’s be honest isn’t always the case, we don’t always go 3 for 3. Maybe it was the combination of the set, the group on stage that day, the congregation, I’m not sure but I do know God showed up big and that is really what made it so powerful. The topic for the day was Life Change Happens best in Small Groups (both literally and in the home group/small group sense). So we added a video, you will see below, combined with a great song and it really was a perfect moment. The song was God Gave Me You by Dave Barnes. I heard an interview with Dave about the song and he spoke to the fact that he wrote it not just as a love song but also about the people God has placed around him in his life that have basically always been there for him through thick or thin. This seemed perfect for our Small Group themed day so we went for it. Now the second verse is, let’s say, not as perfectly written for the theme we were going for in the day and maybe a little more pointedly romantic. So we filmed a testimony, weaved it in and out of the song (through the second verse for example) as we became background music. It was kind of a last minute idea but we made it happen, we filmed on wednesday, had a rough edit with a click to work with at rehearsal that night and finished the editing on Thursday. Quick edit, but great results. Anyway here is the days set with video included (not live band in the video but live it was a live band)

Shout To The Lord – Darlene Zschech (Lincoln Brewster inspired which has a great turn around guitar line that led perfectly into the next song tying the two together and allowing for us to slip back into a chorus of Shout to the Lord.)
